Roberts at Word Of Life Community Church in Chickasaw\, Alabama and also has a street ministry in the Africatown Community where he serves spiritual\, natural food on Sundays after church services. Additionally\, he helped start the Africatown Community Development Corporation (ACDC)\, which restores homes in Plateau\, brings grants to the area\, and informs people about the last slave ship to come to the U.S.\, the Clotilda.\n\n\nHope Community has helped with donations of thousands of health essentials to the Mobile Area Interfaith Conference whose work supports currently and formerly incarcerated individuals. Section St. in Fairhope). \nThere are many large blocks of cement in the back area of the ATJ property preventing us from bush hogging. We would love volunteers to help us canvas the area and remove any large obstacles. \nWe will also be cleaning out our current raised beds and putting in fresh soil. There is plenty of weeding to do throughout the property and in our flower beds. You‘re welcome to take cuttings of our vibrant zinnias home to enjoy! \nWe will meet at the ATJ property starting at 8am. Please bring your own gardening and landscaping tool favorites (gloves\, shovels\, wheelbarrows\, chainsaws\, clippers\, etc). \nWe will have a potluck lunch afterwards under the oaks starting at noon.\nWe hope to see you there!

This two-person dialogue explores the lived experiences of two Southerners who grew up in the Deep South during a time of racial segregation. One participant grew up in a wealthy suburb of Birmingham; the other grew up in a rural south Georgia town. Their conversation will explore various topics from each person’s worldview and experiences through the years. \nThis inside look at the experiences of these two individuals will leave you with a broadened perspective of how worldviews are shaped as they explore the world of rich\, poor\, white\, black\, male\, female\, music\, dance and myriad other topics. You may feel connected\, curious\, uncomfortable\, surprised\, inspired or hopeful. Whatever emotion you feel\, you will be moved by their honest responses. As we strive to improve conversations about race and difference in our community\, what better way to do so than to invite you to listen in and share your thoughts about their conversation over dinner. \nScholars have found that friendships are a fitting space to have these conversations. DESCRIPTION:Join us every third Saturday of the month for our monthly Community Clean-up Day!\nPlease join us this Saturday\, June 15th\, from 8am to 12pm for our monthly Third Saturday CleanUp Day with potluck lunch to follow at 12pm at Anna T. Jeanes (intersection of Twin Beech Rd/S. Section).  \nWe will have folks set up at both the ATJ and Middle & Young Street properties starting at 8am. Portable facilities will be available.  \nPlease bring your own gardening tools and landscaping favorites (gloves\, chainsaws\, pruning tools). 🙏 🌿 We appreciate any help and time donated to help us clear under trees\, weed and water garden beds\, trim trees\, bushes\, & brush\, etc.  \nWe will have a potluck lunch afterwards under the oaks.
