In this hands-on class\, we’ll prepare shakshuka\, a wholesome vegetarian Middle Eastern one-skillet dish of eggs gently simmered in a spiced tomato sauce with peppers\, garlic\, and aromatic spices. For a delicious vegan twist\, we’ll make a protein-rich version featuring chickpeas. \nNo shakshuka experience is complete without warm\, freshly baked naan bread—perfect for scooping up every flavorful bite. We’ll also prepare a vibrant spring pea and feta mezza\, a delightful complement to our meal. To round out our meal\, we will indulge in a colorful Spanish fruit salad bursting with papaya\, pineapple\, zesty lemon\, and a drizzle of local honey. \nAlpine will be our guest chef for the afternoon at USA Health’s Mapp Family Campus teaching kitchen in Fairhope.
