Check out 92Zew/Sound of Mobile’s Community Roundtable podcast as host Kelly Finley and Hope Community Board Director Clarice Hall Black highlight our latest programs and events that are sparking joy and community spirit. Spoiler alert: it’s not just the weather getting exciting around here!

Hope Community had the opportunity to sit down with Kelly Finley of 92 Zew’s (92.1 FM) Community Roundtable segment. Board Director Clarice Hall-Black interviewed on the station’s 251Now podcast about the progress made since we were last on the show in Dec. 2023. In the interview, Clarice shares about our upcoming Hope Community events and the generous support from our volunteer base and community partnerships that have kept our momentum strong. From learning how to start a home food garden or sharing healthy, delicious foods across the dinner table, bridges are being built and healthy relationships between neighborhoods are being forged.

Clarice and Kelly discuss the importance of our FoodRX cooking workshops and dinners. These events are more than just cooking classes; they are a celebration of community, connection, and wellness. Participants explore delicious, simple recipes featuring fresh, local whole foods while learning about the transformative power of food as medicine. It’s a wonderful thing to experience and witness how coming together over a shared meal can foster understanding and encourage healthier living for all.

The show also focuses on the importance of bringing awareness to the rich African American history within Fairhope and surrounding Baldwin County communities. Hope Community’s upcoming 5K in January titled “Our Roots Run Deep” will allow walkers and runners to travel through the historic Fairhope South streets.
