We hope to break ground on the center within the next three years. The center will serve as a vibrant hub for our community, celebrating our rich heritage and fostering creativity, learning, and connection for residents of all ages.

Cultural Museum

Our Arts and Culture Center will house a remarkable Cultural Museum dedicated to showcasing local African American history. Through captivating exhibits, engaging multimedia presentations, and interactive displays, we will honor the heritage, achievements, and contributions of our community. Explore the stories, struggles, and triumphs that have shaped our identity while gaining a deeper appreciation for the legacy we inherit.

Anna T. Jeanes

As we delve into local African American history, we pay tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Anna T. Jeanes. The school in Fairhope South was named after Anna T. Jeanes, a trailblazing Quaker philanthropist, who impacted education in our community and throughout the South. She inspired generations through her resilience, leadership, and commitment to positive change. Discover the incredible impact she had on education in Fairhope South and the lasting influence she continues to have today. The Jeanes Foundation helped support education and vocational programs for African Americans in rural communities from 1908 through the 1960s. It was founded by Anna T. Jeanes with help from Booker T. Washington in 1907.
