We are delighted to share a milestone achievement for Hope Community. After a thorough search process, we hired our first-ever employee, Lindsay Lefever, who joined our team as Farming and Operations Manager on June 8, 2026.

This marks an important new chapter in our organization’s growth and our long-term vision for the historic Anna T. Jeanes School property.

A Perfect Fit for Our Mission

Selecting our first staff member was a responsibility our board of directors approached with great care. Following multiple rounds of interviews and an extensive on-site visit, the board unanimously chose Lindsay for her exceptional experience, thoughtful leadership, and deep alignment with Hope Community’s mission.

Lindsay holds a Master of Science in Plant, Soil, and Food Health Management from Washington State University and has built her career around the principles of agroecology—working with the land to restore soil health while cultivating resilient, productive food systems. Her background includes greenhouse management, agricultural research, volunteer coordination, and community-centered leadership.

Just as importantly, Lindsay brings a genuine passion for connecting people with the natural world.

Helping Shape the Future of Hope Community

As Farming and Operations Manager, Lindsay will oversee the day-to-day stewardship of our farm and the Anna T. Jeanes School property while helping guide the growth of our programs and community partnerships. Her work will include managing farm production and crop planning, advancing soil health initiatives, coordinating volunteers, supporting public events, and helping care for the property’s shared spaces and future nature trails.

Working alongside our board, volunteers, and community partners, Lindsay will play a key role in bringing our vision for the property to life.

A Warm Fairhope Welcome

Lindsay is eager to become part of the Fairhope community and is excited to begin this next chapter with her hands in the soil and her heart invested in the work ahead. We are honored to welcome her to Hope Community and look forward to the energy, expertise, and inclusive leadership she will bring to our organization.

Please join us in giving Lindsay a warm welcome! We can’t wait to see the growth—both in our fields and throughout our community—that this next chapter will inspire.
